The Morning Jolt With Larry Flick – April 16th, 2010

As I get to the end of listening back to this interview, I am just inspired. Really moved by where this conversation goes. And so moved by the call-in guests with their questions and comments. Definitely a good listen.

2010 continued to bring Where I Belong a lot of success including Gonna Be Alright entering the top 10 on select Adult Contemporary radio stations and iheartradio. But the buzz in this interview was all about my Broadway debut as Jerry Lee Lewis in the musical Million Dollar Quartet.

What stands out to me in this interview is that I am still shying away from embracing the word “actor” even after all the films, the stage shows and the years of coaching with one of the best acting coaches in Los Angeles. I literally talk as if this was my first acting gig. In hindsight, I know now that I allowed myself to feel small around a world of actors who, let’s face it, are very good at projecting a since of importance and elitism. Overcoming this insecurity in the coming years was a very exciting victory for me.

We have a great conversation about spirituality as it relates to the LGBTQ experience.

He also gets me to spill the tea about This Girl. This facilitates an interesting conversation around sexuality.

Some really great call-in questions in this interview.
